The number of times I've heard this story is staggering. It isn't always the weight that someone has lifted; but rather, how they moved.
Bending over to pick up a dropped pen or to collect the mail can be all it takes for some people's sacrum to become problematic. Naturally trauma from slips, falls and motor vehicle accidents are also sources of sacral dysfunctions.
Someone calls and asks if they should cancel their appointment because they are in severs pain or just hurt themselves. In causes like this or with very sensitive patients/clients it is nice to have methods to treat them that will not create fear or aggravate their symptoms.
Accomplish better results treating nonspecific back pain that is even more gentle than Muscle Energy Technique for the patient/client.
Introduction to concepts of joint function and dysfunction
Introduction of basic principles of joint mobilization
Exploration of methods to correct somatic dysfunctions (Often thought of as joint dysfunctions)
Introduction of methods of sacroiliac joint testing
Exploration of methods to correct sacroiliac dysfunctions
Increase Range of Motion
BENEFITS FOR PATIENTS
You will be able to correct somatic (joint) dysfunctions in a variety of positions: standing, sitting, prone and supine. This will allow you to position your clients/patients in the most comfortable way in order to make change.
Also correct sacral dysfunctions that cause pain and limit someone's range of motion. It many instances these dysfunctions have been plaguing a person for years, yet you will still be able to make lasting change for the person.
